Partial Discharge Analyzer ( PDA) on Generator/ Motor

Partial discharge is " sparks " , surge of electrons and ions occurring in voids or gaps within or adjacent to the insulation of high voltage machine. Partial discharge is significant contributors to the progressive deterioration ( aging) of High Voltage Insulation and its failure.
Partial Discharge Analyzer is used to monitor the quality stator insulation while generator/ motor is in service. PDA gives an early warning and helps prevent catastrophic in service failures, costly repairs, and unplanned outages.
Stator winding is the most expensive electrical elements. Based on utility statistic, this is also most common electrical problem and most expensive to fix.
